Planning

Since Connections: Writing and Language is intended to be used for short mini-lessons, the planning and pacing charts are specific to the chapter. Use chapters as needed for short mini-lessons or extended deep dives into a writing or language skill.

Each chapter in the Teacher Guide for the program begins with a page that looks like the following.

QuickGuide

Presents the lessons within the chapter and the correspond Student Edition (SE) and Teacher Edition (TE) pages. The lessons are intended to be short and focused. A lesson should take no more than 10 minutes.

Chapter Skill and Assessment Resources

Outlines the supporting resources to use for this lesson, the title of the portion of the resource to use and the page references where to locate that resource.

Classroom Slides

Print Customers

You will need the Passcode (20 characters) from the inside front cover of your Teacher Edition to access the Classroom Slides.

Download the Digital Resources at https://www.perfectionlearning.com/access.

Upon entering your Passcode you will be able to download a .ZIP file containing the Classroom Slides for the program.

NOTE: All program resources are included, so you will only need to download this one time for use with the whole program.

Online eBook Customers

If using the online eBook, the reference to the file name for Classroom Slides is clickable. This will download the Classroom Slides for the selected lesson. It will automatically download the file for you.

Academic Vocabulary

The last section of the planner page provides a list of Academic Vocabulary for each reference. Student handbook pages are included in parentheses.
