Pacing guides are provided in the Teacher Guides for every title in the Literature & Thought collection.

Print/eBook Pacing

  1. Turn to the table of contents. Locate the Pacing Guide for the specific Teacher Guide. Find the pacing guide referenced in the Table of Contents.

  2. The Pacing Guide provides two options for pacing.

    1. The first is for a 4-6 week unit. On this page, teachers will see each part of the lesson with the recommended time to spend on each part in days. The corresponding page reference for the Student Book and the Teacher Guide are noted to the right of the lesson part.

Note: Cluster is similar to a unit with multiple selections included in a cluster. Each Cluster addresses a specific question and thinking skill related back to the book's Essential Question.

    2. The second pacing guide is on the next page and shows teachers 3 ways of shortening the lessons to 1-2 weeks.

    3. Following the 1-2 Week Planner are some suggested longer works that connect to the book's Essential Question/Themes. This can help bridge the critical thinking and topics from Literature & Thought Titles to the longer work.

Interactive Edition Pacing

  1. Logging into the Interactive Edition, you will begin on a landing page. Select a Cluster by selecting the blue text link.

  2. The next screen is a Cluster Landing Page. Here you will see each selection, the suggested pacing, the parts of the lesson, and an option to assign the text to your students.
