Content Adaptation

This article explains how MyQuest skills practice content is automatically scaled up or down based on student performance.

Updated over a month ago

MyQuest content automatically scales up or down based on individual performance, which means that each student is working at his or her optimal level. The student will start at the grade level of the Insight assessment (Insight-Prescribed) or activated by the teacher. The content can scale all the way down to first grade or all the way up to eighth grade.

A student will achieve mastery (cut-off percentage set by the teacher) when he or she has received the mastery percentage of 10 questions correct at the starting grade level. The student will receive a medal on that standard topic when mastery is achieved.

A student will scale down to the grade level below when he or she receives fewer than 2 out of 3 questions correct in a row at the starting grade level. This scaling down happens on a per-standard basis. This progression will continue as long as there is a standard topic to scale down to.

If the student has scaled down below grade level, then he or she will scale back up to grade level in the same fashion. Each grade level is attained when 2 out of 3 questions are answered correctly. The student will not scale up above the standard-assigned grade level until mastery at that grade level has been achieved (which is the percentage the teacher set, out of 10 questions at grade level), if there is a standard topic to scale up to.

Once a student goes above the standard-assigned grade level, the student must achieve the mastery percentage out of 10 questions at the above grade level before continuing to scale up to the next grade level.
