Assessment Library
The Insight Assessment Library contains a collection of pre-made assessments, known as Perfection Learning Quality Assessments. It also contains a vast item bank that allow you to create custom assessments.
View Assessments
Select Insight/Assessment Library.
Make selections from the drop-down menus for Standards, Grade, and Subject. In the Created by drop-down, select Mastery Education.
Before clicking Go, you may filter the Perfection Learning assessments further by making a selection from the Assessment Type drop-down menu.
When you are finished making selections, select Go.
The list of assessments will load based on your drop-down selections.
Note:
Some standards, grades, and subjects do not have pre-made assessments at this time. There will still be an item bank to create your own assessments.
Assessment Types
Depending on which state you are from, and the subject you are using, you will see different assessment types in your Assessment Library.

In common core states, there is a series of different assessment types for PARCC and Smarter Balanced, depending on subject.

Virginia
Summative SOL practice assessments are available in Virginia for the following grades and/or subjects:
District Created Assessments
Any public assessments created from the Insight item bank by those with district administrator access in your district will be found in the Assessment Library by selecting District Administrator in the Created by drop-down menu.
Assessments Created by You
Assessments created from the Insight item bank by you will be found in the Assessment Library by selecting Self in the Created by drop-down menu.
Assessment Sorting
After you have made selections to populate the Assessment Library, you have the option to sort the assessments that show, by making a selection from the Sort by drop-down menu. Sort by assessment name, date created, created by, assessment difficulty, and item types. After selecting from the dropdown menu, you may click the Sort icon to sort in ascending or descending order.
Assessment Actions
Assign
Any assessment in the library can be assigned, as long as students have the appropriate licenses assigned to them and you are not a site license to print customer.
In the Action column next to the assessment you wish to assign, select the Assign icon.
On the next screen, it is defaulted to assign the assessment to all licensed students in the district assigned to that particular grade and subject. If this is ok, select Go. If you would like to assign to a single school or class, change the selections from the drop-down menus, then select Go.
Place a check mark by those you wish to assign to, then select the Next icon
in the right section of the dark blue bar at the top of the screen.
On the next screen, make selections from the following sections:
When: Select start date and end date, and availability.
Details: Choose whether to randomize question order for students, and whether to show guided feedback to students as they navigate the assessment.
Upon Completion of the Assessment: Choose to hide the correct answers from students at the end of the assessment when they receive their Personal Prescriptive Path report. Also, you may click to hide the score from the student.
When all of the parameters have been chosen, select the Save icon
in the right section of the dark blue bar at the top of the screen.
Download/Print
In the Action column next to the assessment you wish to print, click the Download icon
.
The assessment will open in PDF form where it can be printed.
Block
As an administrator, you have the option to block Perfection Learning Assessments from showing in the Assessment Library to teachers within your district.
In the Action column next to the Mastery Education assessment you wish to block, select the downward arrow
, then select the Block icon
.
In the pop-up window select Block.
Archive
You may archive any assessment that has been created by your district (Mastery Education Assessments cannot be archived).
In the Action column next to the assessment you wish to block, select the downward arrow
, then select the Archive icon
.
In the pop-up window select Archive.
The assessment will then move under the My Archive tab. It may be retrieved at any time.
Edit
You may only edit an assessment that you have created, and that students have not started taking. If the Edit link is missing next to the assessment, then this means it is not editable by you. Although, you may use the Copy feature to copy it over to make edits.
In the Action column next to the assessment you wish to edit, click the downward arrow
, then select the Edit icon
.
The assessment will open to the Details section. Click on any step of creating the assessment in the black bar across the top of the screen (Details, Exclusions, Standards, Questions, Order). When you have finished making changes, go to the Review and select the Publish icon
.
Delete
You may only delete an assessment that you have created, and that students have not started taking. If the Delete link is missing next to the assessment, then this means you cannot delete it. To remove it from you screen, you may archive.
In the Action column next to the assessment you wish to delete, select the downward arrow and select the Delete icon.
In the pop-up window, select the Delete button.
Warning!
Please note that once an assessment is deleted, it cannot be retrieved.
Copy
The Copy function allows you to copy an assessment and rename it to edit the assessment.
. In the Action column next to the assessment you wish to copy, select the downward arrow
, then select the Copy icon
.
The assessment will open to the Details section. Update with a new name. Click on any step of creating the assessment in the black bar across the top of the screen (Details, Exclusions, Standards, Questions, Order). When you have finished making changes, go to the Review and select the Publish icon
.
Review
Review a summary of the assessment.
In the Action column next to the assessment you wish to copy, select the downward arrow
, then select the Review icon
.
On the next screen you will see a breakdown of the assessment details, including difficulty information, standards, item type, reading passage titles (if applicable), and description.
Select the Back icon
in the right section of the dark blue bar at the top of the screen when finished.
Answer Key
In the Action column next to the assessment you wish to access the Answer Key for, select the downward arrow , then select the Answer Key icon
.
On the next screen the questions on the assessment will load along with the correct answers, standards information, item details, and Measuring Up lesson references.
Select the Print or Download icons in the upper right corner of the screen, if desired.
Select the Back icon
in the right section of the dark blue bar at the top of the screen when finished.
Launch Assessment from Student Perspective
In the Action column next to the assessment you wish to launch, select the downward arrow
and select the Launch icon
.
In the pop-up window, select Yes or No to launch the assessment with feedback (this is the feedback students would see if it is included as part of the assignment to them).
In the next pop-up window, select Launch Assessment button.
The assessment will start and you may navigate through it, answering each question, and experience as a student would.
Retrieve an Archived Assessment
Select the My Archive tab above the drop-down menus at the top of the Assessment Library.
Make selections from the drop-down menus.
In the Action column next to the assessment you would like to restore, select the Restore icon
.
In the pop-up window, select the Restore button.
This will move the assessment back to your active assessments.
Assignment History
You may review the Assignment History to see what Insight assessments have been assigned to the schools in your district by you, school administrators, and teachers.
Select Insight/Assignment History.
Choose to search for the assignment either by class or student.
Make selections from the drop-down menus, then select Go.
Edit an Assignment
You may edit assignments that have been made by you (if the assignment was made by another educator, the edit option will be grayed out). Only certain features of the assignment may be editable.
Select Insight/Assignment History.
Choose to searh for the assignment either by class or student.
Make selections from the drop-down menus, then select Go.
Locate the assignment, and to the right in the Action column next to it, select the Edit icon
.
In the pop-up window, select Ok.
At the next screen, make edits. Anything that is not editable will show this icon
when you hover your mouse over it. You may edit the date and the available time.
After you have completed the edits, select the Save icon
in the right section of the dark blue bar at the top of the screen.
Delete an Assignment
Select Insight/Assignment History.
Choose to search for the assignment either by class or student.
Make selections from the drop-down menus, then select Go.
Locate the assignment, and to the right in the Action column next to it, click the Delete icon
.
In the pop-up window, select Ok.
