If your school uses Schoology with Perfection Next, you create and grade assignments in Perfection Next. They're sent to your Schoology course automatically, and scores go to the Schoology gradebook.
How the Sync Works:
Information goes one way - from Perfection Next to Schoology. Changes you make in Schoology, like editing a grade or deleting an assignment, don't come back to Perfection Next.
Getting Started
Opening Perfection Next from Schoology
Sign in to Schoology and open your course.
In the course's left menu, select Perfection Learning.
Depending on how your school set up the app, Perfection Next opens in a new window or inside Schoology. If it opens in a new window and Schoology says a pop-up blocker is preventing it from opening, select Launch App.
You'll land on the Class Dashboard for your class in Perfection Next.
TIP
Allow pop-ups for your Schoology site in your browser settings so Perfection Next opens without the pop-up message.
Assignments
Creating an Assignment
Recommendation:
Create your assignments in Perfection Next and they'll be created in Schoology for you. Perfection Next organizes your course resources by chapter and topic, so they're easier to find there.
In Perfection Next, open the lesson or assessment you want to assign and select Assign.
Under Assign To, choose your class or individual students.
Set the Start Date and Due Date, then select Create Assignment.

Your Assignment in Schoology
Within a few minutes, the assignment appears in your Schoology course Materials. It's already published, so students can see it right away - there's no publish step. A matching column is also added to your Schoology Gradebook.
Note:
Schoology shows due dates in each person's Schoology time zone. If a due date looks off by several hours, check the time zone in your Schoology account settings.
The Student Experience
Opening an Assignment
Students open the assignment from their Schoology course Materials.
On the assignment page, they select Launch Perfection Next.
The first time, students may be asked to sign in with their school email address. They enter it and select Continue.
Students land on their To Do List in Perfection Next. They select Start on the assignment.
Students complete the assignment and select Submit in Perfection Next.
Note:
Students submit their work in Perfection Next. They don't need Schoology's Submit Assignment button, which stays on the Schoology page even after they've submitted in Perfection Next.
Grades
Grades in the Schoology Gradebook
When a student submits an automatically scored assignment, the score appears in your Schoology Gradebook within a few minutes. Students see it on the assignment page in Schoology too.
Grading in Perfection Next
Do your grading in Perfection Next. Scores are sent to Schoology for you. To see grades for the whole class, go to Reports > Gradebook. If a score hasn't reached Schoology yet, select Sync Data.
Recommendation:
Make grade changes in Perfection Next. A score you change in the Schoology gradebook isn't sent back to Perfection Next.
Removing an Assignment
Before Students Start: Delete
Before an assignment's start date, you can delete it in Perfection Next from the assignment's Actions menu on the Class Dashboard. It's removed from your Schoology course within a few minutes.
After Students Start: Hide
Once an assignment has started, Perfection Next keeps students' work, so Delete is no longer offered. Select Hide Assignment from the Actions menu instead.
Hiding an assignment in Perfection Next doesn't remove it from Schoology. To remove it from your Schoology course too:
In Schoology, open your course Materials.
Select the gear icon next to the assignment, then select Delete.
Heads Up!
Deleting an assignment in Schoology also deletes its grades in the Schoology gradebook. It doesn't change anything in Perfection Next - students' work and scores stay there.
Troubleshooting
Perfection Next Doesn't Open
Your browser may be blocking pop-ups. Select Launch App on the Schoology page, or allow pop-ups for your Schoology site.
Perfection Next Opens as Someone Else
If another person is still signed in to Perfection Next in the same browser, for example on a shared classroom computer, the launch opens their account. Select Log out in Perfection Next, then launch from Schoology again.
An Assignment or Grade Isn't in Schoology
Assignments and grades usually reach Schoology within a few minutes. If one is still missing, select Sync Data on Reports > Gradebook in Perfection Next. If it still doesn't appear, contact Perfection Learning Support.
My Class Isn't in Perfection Next
Only the classes your school shares with Perfection Learning appear in Perfection Next. If a Schoology course you teach is missing, contact your school administrator.
